MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -
A woman was arrested over the weekend after police said she pulled a gun and acted like she was an off-duty police officer at a park in Mt. Juliet.
The incident occurred at Charlie Daniels Park on Saturday around 9:30 p.m. after police received a call about a woman pointing a gun at a person in the parking lot.
A witness told the dispatcher that the woman said she was an off-duty police officer.
Responding officers located the woman, later identified as Holly Hood, 35, of Old Hickory, TN, inside a car at the park. Also in the vehicle was a man identified as Marvin Hood, 40, of Nashville, TN.
Police said Holly Hood, who is not an off-duty police officer, had earlier pointed a gun at a juvenile who was driving his vehicle through the parking lot.
Authorities said Holly Hood yelled for the juvenile to stop his car. After the victim stopped his vehicle, Holly Hood stated that she was an off-duty police officer and ordered him to step out and place his hands on the on top of the car.
The juvenile and witnesses said that Holly Hood approached his vehicle and pulled a handgun from her waistband, while giving the false impression that she was a police officer.
When police arrived, they searched Holly Hood's vehicle and found a .357 Magnum handgun that had been described by the witnesses. Ammunition was also found in her vehicle.
Police said Marvin Hood, who was a passenger in Holly Hood's vehicle, had illegal pills and a small amount of crack cocaine on his person. Marvin Hood is also Holly Hood's ex-husband. Neither individual had a valid handgun carry permit.
Holly Hood is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and criminal impersonation.
Marvin Hood is charged with possessing illegal narcotics.
