Robbery suspect falls from pickup truck evading police

Posted: Updated:

Metro Police are investigating a pair of break-ins at a single business in Madison.

Officers responded to a reported burglary at the Instant Rental Company on Gallatin Pike South around 4 A.M. Saturday.  Police found a window broken and several televisions stolen. The business owner and officers boarded up the window and left the scene.

About an hour later, a group of people flagged down an officer near the business, and told them somebody had broken into the building again.

Police say two suspects, a man and a woman, tried to flee the scene in a maroon pickup truck. When the man started to drive away, the woman fell out of the back of the truck bed.  She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officers tracked down the driver a short time later and took him into custody.

Police are currently looking for a third suspect.
