NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Metro police are still searching for a suspect they said robbed and threatened a south Nashville business earlier this month.
The incident was reported July 20 at Evergreen Cash Advance and Auto Titles of Tennessee in the 400 block of Thompson Lane.
Police said the suspect made a threat inside the business if he was not given money, and after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash he fled while leaving the device in the business around 2:30 p.m.
Police evacuated the building, closed the nearby intersection of Thompson Lane and Nolensville Road and closed Thompson Lane from Louise Street to Nolensville Road while the bomb squad investigated.
The suspicious device was later determined to not be harmful.
The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5'9" tall and 190 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he wore a dreadlock wig, large sunglasses and a mask. He also carried a tan messenger bag.
Investigators believe the man fled the business in a dark blue Mazda 3 with damage to the passenger side front fender.
Anyone with information in this case, or recognizing the car in the provided surveillance photo, is urged to contact police at 862-7763 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
