COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter pilot has found a Thompson's Station dementia patient who had been missing.
The Daily Herald reported 67-year-old Craig Benson was reported missing from his home Wednesday. On Thursday morning, THP Sgt. Brad Lund spotted Benson lying in a shallow hole behind a parking lot, where he apparently slept overnight.
Lund guided officers on the ground to where Benson was and they took him to a hospital for evaluation.
Authorities said Benson apparently became confused and couldn't find his way back to his home.
