Garbage truck catches fire on Harding Place

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Firefighters had to extinguish a garbage truck that caught fire on an interstate overpass in south Nashville Thursday morning.

The truck caught fire on the Interstate 24 overpass near Harding Place around 11:30 a.m.

The driver tried to put out the blaze with an extinguisher but did not succeed. Emergency crews arrived and were able to contain the fire to the cab.

No one was hurt, and the cause is still unknown.
