NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A dispute over car repairs has landed Mayor Karl Dean's former political campaign director in trouble with the law.

According to police affidavits, Derrick Tibbs was charged with felony theft of property and services.

Tibbs was accused of refusing to pay Precision Autohaus for nearly $2,000 in repairs made on his car last month.

Tibbs was arrested Monday night but has since been released on a $1,000 bond.

Tibbs worked for Mayor Dean's 2011 re-election campaign.
