NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A wreck involving a tractor trailer blocked part of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Donelson area Wednesday evening.
Police said a woman driving eastbound at mile marker 218 traveled into the lane of the tractor trailer, striking the truck.
The truck then careened into the concrete barrier in the median, which sustained some damage.
At least two lanes were blocked in both directions, and the traffic backup spanned several miles during the evening rush hour.
The woman who was driving the car was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in stable condition.
No other injuries were reported.
Westbound lanes were reopened before 7 p.m., and the Tennessee Department of Transportation estimates all eastbound lanes will be reopen after midnight.
