COLUMBIA, TN (WSMV) -
Police in Maury County are looking for the person responsible for dumping a pair of newborn goats that were found inside a garbage bin.
The goats were found alive Monday around 4:18 p.m. at the 800 block of Nashville Highway, but died a short time later.
Police said they were inside a burlap feed bag inside the bin.
A description was given of a vehicle that was in the area of the trash bin before the discovery of the goats.
The vehicle was an unknown color, early model Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck with two large white tanks in the bed. Witnesses said a white male wearing a cowboy hat was driving it.
