LINDEN, TN (WSMV) -
On Thursday, Gov. Bill Haslam and the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced two big improvement projects for Perry County.
Lobelville will be receiving $600,000 to improve the pedestrian experience around the town center, by building new sidewalks and planting more trees for shade.
Linden will be receiving $450,000 to replace storm drains, curbs and sidewalks along its Main Street.
Both grants were made possible through a federally funded program administered by TDOT. Haslam presented the grant checks to the mayors of both cities in person.
