WINCHESTER, TN (WSMV) -

The Franklin County sheriff's office released the name of a young woman whose body was found along a road Monday morning.

Authorities said the body of Erika Megan Sharpton of Tullahoma, TN, was discovered by a passing driver, who saw a fire near Awalt Bridge.

Officials said they are working diligently to solve the case.

"It is the priority. Everybody has manpower issues, but that's not a concern in this case. Everybody who's employed here will work as long as it takes to solve this," said Franklin Sheriff's Dept. Sgt. Chris Guess.

It's unclear how the woman, who was in her 20s, died.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the local sheriff with the investigation.

Anyone having any information about this incident should contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 931-967-2331 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Investigators found the victim's car late Monday afternoon in the Normandy Lake area, and hope it will help them to the killer.
