Family dog saves boy from drowning

Posted: Updated:

A Michigan woman has her Labrador retriever to thank after the dog saved her 14-month-old son from drowning.

Patricia Drauch of Marcellus thought her son Stanley had followed her out to the garage but she instead found him floating in the pool.

The family dog, named Bear, had Stanley on his back and was holding him above the water line.

The boy was unconscious.

His mother rushed him to the hospital where he was later released.

The boy is at home recovering.

Marcellus is a small town in Cass County about 50 miles southwest of Kalamazoo.
