FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Emergency rescue crews have found the body of a 17-year old who disappeared while swimming in the Elk River in Lincoln County.
According to Lt. Joel Massey at the Fayetteville Police Department, the teen's remains were found Sunday afternoon.
Police said the body will be sent to the medical examiner's office in Nashville for an autopsy.
The young man was last seen in the river around noon on Saturday, police said. He was reported missing later that evening.
Police have not yet identified the teen.
