Crash sends Berry Hill officer to the hospital

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Berry Hill police officer had to be rushed to the hospital after a crash early Sunday morning.

The wreck happened just after 2 a.m. near the corner of Berry Road and Larmon Avenue when the officer's car collided with a pickup truck.  The officer involved was identified as Cpl. Bob White.

Police said White approached a stop sign, checked both ways, then continued to drive but was hit by a vehicle driven by Michael Gentry.

White admits he did not come to a complete stop at the sign, and the wreck is considered his fault.  There is a possibility he could face disciplinary action for not stopping at the sign.

White and Gentry were both treated and released for their injuries.
