TN man convicted in child pornography case

Posted: Updated:

GREENVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A federal jury has convicted an East Tennessee man of possession of child pornography after a two day trial.

The jury on Friday found 31-year-old Michael J. Noble of Kingsport guilty. He faces up to 10 years in prison at sentencing on Nov. 26.

Prosecutors said the investigation of Noble began when his spouse discovered pornographic images of young children on his computer and a video tape made by him of young female children at local swimming pools, shopping centers and other publicly viewed areas.

The Kingsport Police Department seized a computer and external hard drives from the Noble's apartment. Prosecutors say a forensic examination of the seized computer and hard drives revealed over 2,300 images containing child pornography and videos containing child pornography.
