Two teenagers arrested in murder of Fort Campbell soldier

Posted: Updated:

It's been a shocking week for a Clarksville neighborhood, starting with the murder of a Fort Campbell soldier and now the arrest of two teenage suspects.

Giovonne Johnson, 18, and an unnamed 17-year-old suspect have been charged with the murder of Taylor Hotzoglou. According to Clarksville police, Johnson and the second suspect picked up Hotzoglou at his Fort Campbell Boulevard apartment complex over the weekend. Hotzoglou was later found shot to death in his car pulled off to the side of nearby Victory Road.

"Finding the body on the street is one thing," said 17-year-old Victory Road resident Tyler Biggs. "It's even worse that one of the suspected shooters live right down the street from me."

To the right of the Biggs family's home is where Tyler and a friend found Hotzoglou's body in a car.

"Caution lights were on, and the car was still running," he remembered. "He had his leg hanging out the door."

Now comes yet another scary development for the Biggs family. Only a few houses to the left of their house is the home of Johnson.

"His brothers have come down here to play with my 10-year-old," said Sabrina Biggs. "It's just kind of shocking to know those little boys have had to be around something like that. The last couple times I've walked past there to pick up my son from the bus stop, (Johnson) would be sitting on his porch with his head down. I don't know. Maybe his conscience got to him."

When reached, Johnson's family declined to comment on the arrest. According to Clarksville police, Johnson has not had any other adult charges. Police have not yet confirmed a possible motive in the shooting.
