NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man riding a motorcycle was killed when his bike hit a truck Thursday evening in Bellevue.

Ryan Loomis, 21, of Amberwood Circle, was killed as he was headed southbound on Old Hickory Boulevard in Bellevue.

"He got into the turn lane in an attempt to go around the slower moving traffic. The pickup truck was in the left hand lane to turn into the apartment complex," says Metro police Capt. Gary Goodwin.

Police say they both tried to take evasive action, but it was too late.

This was the second motorcycle fatality Thursday.  Mini Zaki, 20, was killed at 11:30 a.m. on Briley Parkway near Centennial Boulevard.
