Channel 4 I-Team uncovers exclusive video in Metro inspector scandal

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

There are shocking new details about a scandal in Metro government.

Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson is accusing taxi and tow truck inspectors of impersonating police officers on the job by carrying badges, guns and even using blue lights.

And the Channel 4 I-Team has uncovered exclusive video that is now bringing those accusations to life.

Former sedan driver Doug Ollis captured the video as he was being pulled over by a transportation licensing commission inspector in 2008.

The inspector never identifies himself as a Metro police officer, but he is wearing what appears to be a police badge and a gun in a holster.

Ollis said he filed complaint after complaint against the inspector in the video, Milton Bowling, as well as his boss, Transportation Licensing Commission Director Brian McQuistion. But, Ollis said, nothing was done about it until now.

We tracked down Bowling, but he would not talk with us. McQuistion also did not have a comment.

A Metro Police spokesman said it is still undetermined whether or not the inspectors will face criminal charges.
