CHATTANOOGA, TN (WSMV) -

A Tennessee politician who made national headlines a couple of years ago is back in the news.

Basil Marceaux is going to spend the next few days in jail after a Chattanooga judge found him in contempt of court Monday.

According to Basil's wife, Marceaux was arguing with the judge over a traffic violation when he told the judge that she was "out of order."

He also told the judge that she was "going down," when he gets elected.  The judge sentenced him to 10 days in jail.

Marceaux is currently running for the District 27 seat in the state house of representatives.

Two years ago he made headlines when he ran for the governor of Tennessee, even appearing on national talk shows.
