NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A special dedication was held tonight at Montgomery Bell Academy in honor of screenwriter Tom Schulman.

He's best known for the legendary film, which won him the Academy Award for best screenplay, Dead Poets Society.

Saturday night, the school thanked Schulman for his work in the arts and dedicated the Dead Poets Society Room in his honor.

In fact, MBA played a large role in Schulman's writing.

"You'd go in a room and an hour later your life felt like it had changed," Schulman said. "So, that felt like something I needed to write about."
