Cheatham County schools face budget cuts

ASHLAND CITY, TN (WSMV) -

Cheatham County schools may face some budget cuts, including a loss of jobs.

The schools' director shared his plan during a meeting Thursday night.

To fully fund the district next fiscal year, they will need $45.3 million, which is about $980,000 short of projected revenues.

Director Tim Webb said 18 teaching positions will have to be cut to close the gap. Other positions that may be cut include guidance counselors and band directors.
