Princess Diana's gowns on display at Southern Women's show

Posted: Updated:

Visitors to the Southern Women's Show will be able to catch a glimpse of Princess Diana's glamorous gowns right here in Nashville.

A special exhibit is showing off five of her royal dresses.

The owner of the dresses purchased the gowns at an auction just weeks before the princess died in 1997.

One of the dresses on display is a gown that Diana wore when she and Prince Charles attended a White House gala event in 1985, hosted by President Reagan.

Organizers said more than 35,000 people attended the event last year.

Hundreds of booths will be set up on the topics of shopping, fashion, health and beauty. Several celebrity speakers and chefs will also take the stage.

The Southern Women's Show is being held at the Nashville Convention Center from April 12-15.

Meet Ch. 4's Holly Thompson on Friday

Channel 4 News Today anchor Holly Thompson will be at the celebrity cooking stage at 1:30 p.m. Friday.  Watch as she makes chicken salad with poppy seed dressing and apricot nut bread.  She'll also be at the Channel 4 booth starting at 10:30 a.m. Friday until her cooking segment begins that afternoon.
