Nashville Shores job fair gets unusual clientele

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Ever since warmer temperatures took over everyone's wondering when Nashville Shores is going to open.

Well, get ready because Nashville Shores is hiring.

Five hundred jobs to be exact.

Nashville Shores held their annual job fair on Saturday.

Needless to say there were a lot of applicants somewhere in the range of 1,000.

But you may be surprised by who applied.

"Typically at a water park you get a lot of high school students and college students as their first job. But what we are finding with the economy is that a lot of times we will see more adults and older college students applying for jobs," said Daniel Strobel, of Nashville Shores.

More and more people down on their luck have applied for these types over recent years because of the economy.

If you're interested in one of these open positions, it's not too late. Applications are available throughout the week.

Nashville Shores opens to the public on May 5.
