Posted: Updated:

One person was killed and three people were injured in a wreck on I-65 South near mile marker 103.

The accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. south of the Bethel Road exit.

A Ford F250 Extended cab driven by Phyllis Spurlock of Valparaiso, IN, was pulling a camper trailer in the right lane of I-65.

Spurlock suddenly had to step on her brakes, causing the trailer to fishtail. The driver lost control of the trailer.

The truck and trailer then started spinning and went into the median, where it flipped twice and came to rest.

Phyllis Spurlock, 59, died at the scene.

Three passengers in the vehicle, David Spurlock, 65, Lee Ann Spurlock, 31, and Katherine Carroll, 4, all of Valparaiso, IN, were injured.

As of 1 p.m., all lanes of traffic have been reopened.
