700 take advantage of Sober Ride program

Posted: Updated:

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said 700 people took advantage of its Sober Ride program Saturday night.

Members of the sheriff's office volunteered to help make sure people who had too much to drink were able to find a safe ride home and not get behind the wheel in an intoxicated state.

Metro police did say 24 people were arrested on suspicion of DUI Saturday night following St. Patrick's Day parties.
