The Channel 4 I-Team won big honors at the 26th Annual Midsouth Emmy Awards Saturday night.

WSMV-TV won three Emmy awards, in the categories of Investigative Series, Business and Consumer Reporting, and Journalistic Enterprise.

For Investigative Series, the judges honored Chief Investigative Reporter Jeremy Finley and Photojournalist Jason Finley for a string of reports on former Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk David Torrence. Finley and Photojournalist Zina Bauman were honored in the Business and Consumer category for special reports on the fall of  a questionable healthcare coverage company. Finley was also honored for a variety of his stories in the Journalistic Enterprise Category.

"In a television market with very high standards for investigative reporting, the Channel 4 I-Team had the only investigative work honored in Nashville," said WSMV-TV News Director Matthew Hilk.

The Nashville/Midsouth region of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences encompasses all television markets in Tennessee, most markets in North Carolina, and  the Huntsville, Alabama market.

Channel 4 News had received 16 Emmy nominations, for a body of work ranging from breaking news to light features.
