Storm picks up Greenville man's home with him inside

A funnel cloud brought powerful winds to the Greenville, KY, area Wednesday. The storm chewed up the roof of a school gym and left pieces of it all over the football field.

Meanwhile, one man says he barely survived when the winds picked up his mobile home.

"I was in the trailer," Steven Vaught said. "When I rolled, I fell up against the big screen TV I had. Then I was on the floor, the ceiling, I mean I was rolling."

Vaught's home came to rest at the bottom a nearby hill, with pieces of his life scattered across a field.

"Once it hit the ground on the fifth time," Vaught said, "I was sitting up against the stove there, with my back against it, like I was sitting in a chair."

In that moment, Vaught says he wasn't worried about injuries, but his dogs.

"I didn't find one for over an hour," he explained. "But I hollered for one, and she came running to me."

Vaught's other dog eventually showed up. The blood on his chin required seven stitches, along with some staples in his head.

But despite all his loss, Vaught says he has tears of joy. Joy that's he alive to see another day.

"I don't know how, I don't know how I am here," Vaught said. "The good Lord just didn't call. That's all I know."
