NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police have charged an Antioch woman with vehicular homicide following a fatal wreck on Interstate 65 early Wednesday.

Rebecca Benson, 22, is accused of driving the wrong way on I-65 while under the influence of alcohol before colliding into a vehicle driven by Steffanie Leonard, 29, of Franklin

Leonard, who was on her way to work, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. between Wedgewood Avenue and the Interstate 40 interchange.

Police said Benson got onto the interstate going the wrong way at Broadway downtown.

Benson, driving a 2006 Lexus RX 330, hit Leonard's Chevrolet Ventura van head-on.

Officers responding to the scene said that Benson smelled of alcohol, and Benson allegedly acknowledged drinking prior to the wreck.

Traffic was tied-up for about four hours while officials responded at the scene.

Benson is continuing to recover at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from injuries received in the crash. Her bond is set at $250,000.
