Popular radio personality dies

A popular local radio DJ has died.

Curtis "DJ Scooby" Senior, one half of the Dolewite and Scooby show on 101.1 The Beat died today.

No details have been released as the cause of his death.

The Beat will be remembering Scooby on air tonight. They're inviting listeners to call in and share their favorite memories and condolences.

The beat released a statement on their website following Scooby's death.

"110.1 The Beat is deeply saddened by the recent loss of one of our family members - Curtis "Scooby" Senior,.. Scooby was an integral part of The Beat family from the time the station signed on in Nashville in 2001. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time.

"We ask that you keep his family, and The Beat family, in your prayers. We will miss him and he will forever be in our hearts and minds."
