NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A museum honoring country legend Johnny Cash is scheduled to open this summer in downtown Nashville, Mayor Karl Dean and organizers announced Tuesday morning.

The mayor joined members of the Cash family for the 11 a.m. event in downtown Nashville.

The plan is to turn a warehouse on Third Avenue South into a museum featuring pictures, guitars and other mementos.

"We're very honored, proud and blessed to have this in Nashville," said Johnny Cash's brother, Tommy.

Items will include pieces from Cash's lake house in Hendersonville and artifacts from the "House of Cash" attraction he ran with his wife.
