NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown will not be performing Sunday night with his band New Edition at Municipal Auditorium; however, publicists for the band said New Edition will be taking the stage as scheduled.

The New Edition tour bus was spotted in the parking area next to the auditorium Sunday morning.

In a statement Sunday afternoon to Extra, Brown said, "I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi- Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time."

According to CNN, Brown decided not to perform in Nashville Sunday in order to spend time with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 18. The teen was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital Sunday morning, to deal with undisclosed health issues, according to a family spokesperson.

Just hours after Houston's death, Brown took the stage Saturday night at venue near Memphis. Brown declared his love for Whitney and said it was difficult for him to perform, but he wanted to thank his fans for their support. The concert ended shortly after Brown broke down and started sobbing on the stage.

New Edition's publicists said the group performed one of Houston's songs at the concert last night, and "it is quite possible they will do something like that tonight. However, I cannot guarantee it," said Sarah Cornelius, North American Entertainment.
