NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Channel 4's thoughts go out to the fans, co-workers and family of a popular champion of Nashville's independent music scene.

David Hall, a longtime disc jockey and Program Director at WRLT-FM "Lightning 100," died this weekend.

Listeners will remember his catchy slogan, "David Hall rocks y'all."

Hall's co-workers were shocked and saddened at the news of his death, and Lightning 100 General Manager Fred Buc shared a statement with us.

Buc says he was "fortunate to know David and work with him for nearly 30 years. David's name and voice were synonymous with rock radio in Nashville, and his love for music is legendary and always will be."

Buc also said the Lightning 100 family and thousands of listeners will miss Hall dearly.
