2 released from hospital after deadly Clarksville crash

One person remains hospitalized in critical condition, but two others have been released from the hospital after a deadly crash Friday morning in Montgomery County.


The crash involving a Dodge Durango and a GMC Sierra pickup truck occurred around 7:40 a.m. at the 1500 block of Madison Street.  

Police said the driver of the pickup truck, Tyler Head, 20, of Springfield, TN, died at the scene.  A passenger in the truck, Lucas P. Haley, 19, of Springfield, was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical but stable condition.   Haley remains hospitalized Saturday.

The driver of the Durango, Vincent D. Clark, 31, of Clarksville, TN, was also transported to Vanderbilt but released Saturday.  A female passenger in the Durango, Denesha M. Clark, 26, of Clarksville, was taken to Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville but later released. 

Investigators said the Durango crossed into the oncoming lane, and there was no signs of skid marks for braking.

Police said the passenger in the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt.  Toxicology tests are being administered. 

Madison Street was closed much of the morning following the wreck but reopened around 10:30 a.m.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
