Teresitta Jones
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A mother is accused of leaving her two children, ages 10 and 1, alone at a Nashville motel late Wednesday night.
The incident happened at the Scottish Inn on Murfreesboro Pike around 11:30 p.m.
A man said he became concerned for the children's welfare when he knocked on the door of the room and found the children alone. He contacted police and the children's mother, Teresitta Jones, 24, returned to the room about an hour later.
Police said they found in the room, in reach of the 10-year-old, a small amount of marijuana, loose Ibuprofen pills and bottles of amoxicillin and penicillin.
Jones is charged with two counts of child neglect. She has previously been convicted of disorderly conduct and remains jailed on $11,000 bond.
The children are in the custody of the Department of Children's Services.
