PARSONS, TN (WSMV) -
There are some intriguing new details in the search for Holly Bobo. She hasn't been seen since last spring, despite billboards and trucks plastered with her photo and lots of news coverage.
Now, the arrest of a registered sex offender is giving the family renewed hope of finding Holly.
And there has been a significant change in the reward fund. Wednesday, the reward increased from $85,000 to $250,000.
A family spokesman tells Channel 4 the new reward money will hopefully lead to new arrests and new information.
Terry Britt, 53, a registered sex offender, has been indicted in Madison County on new sex charges.
Britt is from Parsons, the same town in which the Bobos live, but law enforcement officials have not stated any connection between him and the Bobo case.
But they have said they believe some of Britt's victims are still unknown.
Britt is charged with sexual battery, attempted rape and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.
The uncertainty has led to mass speculation online and in the Parsons community, but the Bobos' family spokesman Kevin Bromley says they just don't know yet.
"Even though this gentleman is from Decatur County, we really don't know if this person is even remotely related to Holly's abduction," Kevin Bromley said.
What the family does know is thanks to a new anonymous donation, the reward money for finding Holly jumped significantly.
"With added reward money may come new information, new tips, and new leads that might lead to Holly's safe return," Bromley said.
The Bobos also remind everyone that they still have hope for Holly's return.
"They're not giving up. They're not going to quit. The investigators are not going to quit, and we believe this reward money will lead to Holly's safe return in the very near future," Bromley said.
Law enforcement officials are still asking anyone with information about Holly's disappearance to call the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
