RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN (WSMV) -
Detectives in two counties are working to find burglars who have hit several homes while the owners were away at work.
Police said the thieves are stealing jewelry, gold, electronics and guns during the day from homes in the southwestern part of Rutherford County and nearby Williamson County.
At least eight homes have been targeted so far on John Windrow Road, Coleman Hill Road, Rehoboth Road, state Route 96 West (Franklin Road), Patterson Road, Swamp Road, Shoemaker Road and Panther Creek Road between Franklin Road and U.S. Highway 41 South near Eagleville, according to investigators.
Police said all the homes were located near the road.
You can protect your home by keeping the doors locked, and making it appear that someone is at home during the day, police said.
