One Metro Schools teacher's donation will put technology at kids' fingertips.
Gerald Grubb and his wife donated five brand new iPads and three laptop computers to the Youth Life Learning Center at Hillside.
"These are, without a doubt, very fine kids," said Grubb. "Smart, alert, so engaged in learning, it's exciting."
The iPads are loaded with several education apps.
Grubb says he's watched his students and grandchildren learn a lot using this technology, and he wanted more kids to get that opportunity.
"This technology, particularly the iPad, is the single best thing to happen in education, in my opinion, in the history of the world," said Grubb.
Grubb hopes his donation sets a model for other youth life centers, and he hopes others will step up and make similar donations.
