NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro Schools officials have suspended a district supervisor after he forwarded an email that some might find offensive.

A Nashville blogger named Genma Holmes posted the email, which says it was sent from a school supervisor's district email account to several other school employees' work accounts.

It shows a comic entitled "The Original Sin," and it shows a caveman telling another caveman he decided to teach a woman to talk, saying "What harm could it do?"

Channel 4 News spoke to the district supervisor whom the blogger claims sent the email, and he denied sending it.

But after an investigation by the district's employee relations department, the supervisor in question was reprimanded and suspended for three days without pay.

Metro Schools officials released a statement Wednesday:

"The district sets high standards for students, faculty and staff and we hold each person in the district responsible for working toward our vision and acting in concert with our beliefs."
