CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A task force has been formed to look into the problem of suicides in Montgomery, Houston, Humphreys and Stewart counties.
The counties were selected because they've had more than their share of suicides when compared to the rest of the state, Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network's Scott Ridgeway told The Leaf-Chronicle.
Ridgeway said Cindy Johnson of Clarksville will lead the task force. Johnson lost her son to suicide in 2009 and has worked against the problem since then.
The newspaper reports the four-county area had 38 suicides in 2010, including 24 in Montgomery County.
