Nashville Grammy chapter honors local nominees

Vince Gill has 20, Alison Krauss has 26 and LeeAnn Rimes got one at age 14. Most in the music business would just like to have one Grammy Award, which is the biggest award in the music industry.

Tuesday, the Nashville Grammy chapter honored its local nominees at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

It was a chance for the excited nominees to enjoy the moment a bit, from country to gospel to pop.

And attendees were even in the presence of country music royal George Jones, who is honored with a lifetime achievement award.

A star who is now trying to take on the Grammys like he's taken on Music Row is one of the hottest young guns of country, Jason Aldean.

"It's been a great ride up until this point, especially this year or so," said Aldean, who is nominated for multiple Grammys.

The biggest night of the year in music, the 54th Annual Grammy Awards are set for Feb. 12 in Los Angeles.

Nashville musicians have always been very successful at the Grammys. Most recently, Taylor Swift, at the age of 20, became the youngest ever winner of the best album award.
