NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Get ready to start paying more to ride the bus.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority said that the basic cash fares will go up 10 cents starting Friday.
If you use the AccessRide, cash fares will increase 20 cents.
Regional Transit Authority officials also recently approved a 50-cent increase in regional express bus fares.
MTA officials said the increase was due to fuel and other related operating costs.
MTA officials said they are also trying to deal with expenses from the 2010 floods.
It's their first price hike in nearly four years.
