"Widespread rain showers will continue in the morning, becoming scattered by midday and isolated by late afternoon. A few flurries are possible during the evening, especially along the Cumberland Plateau, but not enough to create any problems," Channel 4 Pinpoint Meteorologist Paul Heggen said.
Once the system passes, a warming trend will set in with temperatures in the high 50s by the end of the week.
Overnight Crashes
The steady rain may have contributed to a couple of wrecks Monday night and early this morning.
One crash occurred around 11 p.m. Monday between Brick Church Pike and Dickerson Pike.
Officers also worked a minor crash around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Eastland Avenue and Gallatin Pike.
