Occupy Nashville protesters ring in holiday with drum circle

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Occupiers didn't vacate the plaza for Christmas. They rang in the holiday with a "love-drum" circle Sunday afternoon.

Protesters down in Legislative Plaza gathered with friends and family to listen to live music, and even share food with fellow occupiers.

Yet, while they enjoyed the festivities, they didn't forget why everyone is still there.

"Things aren't going to change unless we help change them but we're only going to make change by being persistent," said Devin Pena, a supporter of the movement.

Occupy Nashville began protesting in early October, after the Occupy Wall Street movement sparked a nation-wide trend to remove corporate influence from politics.
