Jim Reed auto dealerships sold, name to change

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Today is the end of an era for an auto giant that's been around Nashville for nearly 100 years.

Jim Reed Subaru and Jim Reed Hyundai on Broadway has been bought by Martin Management Group of Bowling Green, KY.

"We recognize the Reed's 94-year history and commitment to the community," said Chad Martin, president of Martin Management Group. "Like the Reed's, we are family-owned and are looking forward to continued community involvement in the Nashville marketplace."

The Reed name will be dropped from the dealerships' names.

The dealerships will be known as Downtown Subaru and Downtown Hyundai.

The Jim Reed name has been used on the car lots for the last 94 years.
