The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged a Hartsville, TN man with attempted criminal homicide for his involvement in the shooting of a Trousdale County Sheriff's deputy, authorities said.
David Leon Graves, 29, was arrested on Wednesday after being released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was recovering after being shot twice by Trousdale County Sheriff deputy Sgt. Harold Cooley.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Dec. 5, deputies from the sheriff's department responded to Graves' Coker Lane home after being called for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies found Graves armed with a shotgun. Graves shot Cooley in the face before Cooley shot Graves twice.
Graves is being held on a $2 million bond.
