NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The Metro City Council has given its final approval to the upgrade plans at LP Field.
The vote at Tuesday night's meeting was for bonds to cover the $28 million plan. The NashvilleCity Paper reports that the vote passed 33 to 3.
New high-definition video boards, sound system improvements and extra elevators will all be in place by the kickoff of the 2012 football season.
* A high-definition scoreboard that will be four times the size of the current board * A hospitality area to host sponsors * A fan courtyard * Six high-speed elevators that will transport fans from the lower to upper deck
The cost will be paid for by a current $2 ticket user fee that has been in place for the last two years. No public money will be used.
