HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A second person has died from injuries sustained in Thursday morning's 50-car pileup on Vietnam Veterans Boulevard in Hendersonville, according to the local police department and state medical examiner's office.

The victim has been identified as James M. Ziegler, 62, of Old Hickory.

Ziegler was not transported to the hospital following the wreck and drove his car from the scene following the investigation, said police.

Ziegler's car was hit twice by two different vehicles.  He walked away and drove to work at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Once he arrived, he went to the emergency room where doctors told him he had whiplash, according to his wife, Jill.

Ziegler then left the hospital, went home and fell asleep on the couch.

"Not knowing exactly what whiplash feels like, we knew that he was not feeling good. We thought maybe we'd go on to the hospital again and he said he'd just wait until the next day so he could see the doctor," Jill Ziegler said.

However, his wife woke up to her husband not breathing normal and called 911. Ziegler died shortly thereafter.

Paul Warren, 28, of Hendersonville, died Thursday after his vehicle crashed in to the back of a tractor-trailer.

The pileup is still under investigation by the Hendersonville Police Department.
