Army Corps of Engineers prepares for wet weather

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Army Corps of Engineers says it is doing what they can to get ahead of the nasty weather moving in. And, is says it is prepared to prevent any potential flooding.

As many in Nashville know, when it comes to flooding, it's all about timing. A waiting and timing game of releasing and holding water at dams. That's what the Corps says it's been doing in anticipation of all the rain. It is also keeping a close eye on streams and rivers.

The area received 4 inches of rain last week, so the Corps is making sure area dams are not overwhelmed.

The Army Corps of Engineers says it will be working closely with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, and has 1.5 million sandbags ready to go if they're needed.
