The Marshall County Sheriff's Department and TBI are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman whose body was found late Monday night.
Deputies discovered the body of Penny Blackwell Coyle in her car along Old Rock Crusher Road, just north of Lewisburg.
"Penny was a loving person," said Betty Adams, Coyle's cousin. "She never hurt anybody."
Coyle was a lifelong Marshall County resident, who had several children and grandchildren.
"Penny was a great person," said Kitty Blackwell, Coyle's aunt. "She had a big heart. She loved everybody and everybody loved her."
A spokeswoman for the TBI confirmed the agency is assisting the sheriff's department and investigating Coyle's death as a homicide. As of Tuesday afternoon, neither agency provided specific information about the cause of death.
