BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Attorneys say a trial is likely a year away for a south-central Kentucky woman accused of killing a pregnant woman and taking her baby.

No date was set during a pretrial hearing Monday in Bowling Green for 33-year-old Kathy Michelle Coy of Morgantown, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and kidnapping in the April death of Jamie Stice.

Stice's remains were found in Warren County on April 14. Police say Coy used a stun gun to subdue the expectant mother before killing her and cutting the baby boy from her body. The baby survived the incident.

Coy showed no emotion during the hearing. She remains lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
