Clarksville police say a man who previously served time for robbery has now been arrested after forcing a woman to have sex with him.

Kevin George Jones, 31, 3320 Greenspoint Drive, is charged with rape after police say he offered a woman a ride in the area of Providence Boulevard.

The two discussed trading sex for money, but after a disagreement the woman tried to exit Jones' Chevy Tahoe. The passenger side door handle did not function, and police say Jones then drove into a parking lot, forced the woman to have sex with him without her consent and struck her in the face several times.

Jones then allegedly drove to the Trice's Landing boat dock, backed the Tahoe into the edge of the water and forced the woman to kneel in the water. He then grabbed her by the hair, struck her and again forced her to have sex.

The woman was able to escape and contact police.

Jones is jailed on $250,000 bond.

Police say he had been placed on community corrections release in July for five years after serving a sentence for robbery.
